Owners often want a new bathroom and kitchen without moving the stack. That is a contained job if the waterproofing in the shower is redone properly. Moving a kitchen to a living-room wall is much harder in a flat than in a Claremont house, because the slab and the neighbour below are affected. Balcony doors leak in winter gales. If the floor inside the door stains, say so before you order joinery.
